Cormac McCarthy’s Border Trilogy is an epic tale of the American frontier. As the story follows two young
boys coming of age in the Southwest and Mexico, the theme of fate and chance ties the three books together. 

 

Inspired by the trilogy’s setting and McCarthy’s tendency to incorporate Spanish dialogue without any translation, these illustrated book covers depict images inspired by a Mexican lottery game, Loteria.
Each image represents a theme specific to the book while simultaneously tying back to the overarching
theme of Fate.
